Holiday Glam feat. the Tarte Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette

I feel like almost everybody has been raving about the latest product launches from Tarte cosmetics, especially the Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay eyeshadow palette. This palette consists of 16 creamy, pigmented matte shades (square pans) and 4 duo-chrome/ metallic shades (circular pans).

tarteist-pro

I am so in love with this palette and really enjoy the colors and formula of the matte and shimmer shades. I have never tried out any eyeshadow palettes from Tarte before, but after trying this palette I am a big fan!

The Holiday Glam look that I created today is meant to be very simple and not too over the top. I used the shades “Innocent” and “Bold” as my transition shades and then deepened up the crease using the shades “Smoked”, “Mod”, and “Drama”. Then, for the star of this look, I applied the shade “Trendy” all over the lid using my finger. This shade is that famous Mac Blue Brown pigment kind of shade and it looks absolutely gorgeous. I used a little bit of the black shade “Punk” on the outter corner. For the bottom lashline, I smoked it out using the shades “Mod” and “Drama”.

To complete this Holiday Glam makeup look, I used:

Eyes

  • Eyeko Skinny liquid eyeliner pen to create a winged liner
  • One coat of Jordana Best Lash mascara on my top and bottom lashes
  • Kiss false lashes in the style Shy
  • Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon eyeliner on my waterline

Face

  • Milani Conceal + Perfect foundation in medium beige
  • L.A. Girl Pro Concealer in creamy beige
  • Set my concealer using the RCMA No Color powder
  • Contoured using the Anastasia Beverly Hills light contour kit
  • Bronzed using MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Give Me Sun
  • For blush I used the Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed
  • Used Becca + Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop to highlight

Brows & Lips

  • Filled in my brows using Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in medium brown
  • For lips, I used the NYX lipstick in shade Cocoa and applied Maybelline Shine Shot gloss overtop

Simple Glam feat. November Ipsy Glam Bag Products

I recently posted about my November Ipsy Glam Bag and decided to do a quick makeup look using the products! For more details on what I thought of each product, check out my previous post!

Products from the Ipsy bag:

  • Hey Honey facial serum- I used this to prime and prep my skin for foundation.
  • Benefit Porefessional pore minimizing primer
  • Eyeko Skinny Liquid eyeliner pen
  • Skone Cosmetics Brow Wand in chocolate

November Ipsy Glam Bag + Review

I recently subscribed to Ipsy and received my first glam bag for the month of November!

Keep reading to see what’s inside and what I thought of each product!

Benefit Porefessional pore minimizing primer- this product is a cult favorite and I have never heard someone say they don’t love this product because it is just amazing! Love this primer and I definitely recommend this if you want something lightweight that will help minimize the appearance of larger pores.

Skone Brow Wand (full size)- this is pretty much a dupe for the Anastasia Brow Definer. It has the exact same shape and has a spoolie on one end just like the Brow Definer. The only difference is that this one is not as stiff as the Anastasia one. I do really like this brow pencil though! It is the right shade (not too warm toned but not too cool toned either) and it pigmented enough to give you control on how heavily you want to fill in your brows.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner pen (black)- I love this eyeliner so much! It makes applying eyeliner so easy and quick! It is not as black as my Essence waterproof eyeliner pen, but I feel like the Eyeko one does not dry out as quickly. I think I will repurchase a full sized one when the sample runs out!

Hey Honey Goid Morning Honey Silk facial serum- I have only used this serum once and I can’t really give much of a detailed review since skincare products usually take a few uses to know how well you will like the product. I did like the way it felt on my skin, but I haven’t noticed a difference in just one use. I’m pretty sure it’s just meant to be hydrating  for all skin types and definitely feels nice.

Laws & Co. B’Lighter in Peacher’s Daughter highlighting cream blush- this is the only product in the bag that I was not too thrilled with. I don’t really go for Cream blushes in the first place, and the “highlight” factor of the product is way WAY too glittery and just doesn’t look too flattering on the skin.

Hot Product of the Week: Palladio Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Welcome back to another Hot Product of the Week! This week, I have been loving the Palladio Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks in the shades Tapestry (left- deep purple) and Boucle (right-dark brown toned nude). I got these at Ulta and they were around $5 each.

Keep reading to see a full review!

I have never bought anything from this brand before, but when I saw that these were a velvet matte finish rather than a full matte finish, I wanted to give them a try to see if they would be less drying.

Overall, I am LOVING the formula and color of lipsticks and really want to go back to get more shades! The darker shade was a little streaky, but not hard to work with at all and can be corrected really easily with another layer. I find that these did not dry out my lips at all since they are not meant to be a flat matte finish, but they dry down really well and did not transfer.

The only thing I do not like about this product is the fact that the color you see on the outside is kind of deceiving as to what the actual color is. Just looking at outside of the packaging, Tapestry (the dark purple shade) looked like a rich chocolate brown and when I got home and opened it, I was really surprised to see that it was not brown at all! Same thing with the shade Boucle. It looked like it was going to be a pretty pinky Nude color and actually turned out to be a dark brown nude. Even though the colors fonnot really match what they look on the outside, I still am obsessed with the shades and would have still bought them anyway.

Overall, I think these liquid lippies are amazing and for such an inexpensive price, you can’t beat it!

MOTD: Green & Purple Fall Smokey Eye

I love recreating different makeup looks and this one created by Melissa Alatorre really stood out to me! I think that using the deep plum and green shades make this a gorgeous fall look while also incorporating color.

FACE

  • Becca Ever Matte Poreless Perfecting Primer
  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation in warm nude
  • Maybelline Better Skin concealer in light/medium
  • Set my concealer with the NYX HD pressed powder in banana
  • Benefit Hoola bronzer
  • Benefit Rockateur blush
  • Makeup Revolution baked highlighter in Radiant Lights

EYES

  • Morphe 35b palette (I cannot put this thing down- OBSESSED!)
  • Applied one coat of Essence Lash Princess false lashes mascara to my top and bottom lashes
  • Applied a pair of Kiss false lashes in the style Shy- my absolute faves
  • Lined my waterline using NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in black bean

BROWS & LIPS

  • For my brows I fluffed them up using the “soap brow” trend (if you don’t know what this is, I posted a quick tutorial of it on my Instagram @marinaleebeauty). Basically you run soap through your brows and it makes them stay in place in any style ALL DAY.
  • I filled them in softly using the ABH Dipbrow pomade in medium brown
  • For lips, I applied the Milani lipstick in Bahama Beige and used NYX Butter Gloss in fortune cookie overtop.

Hope y’all enjoyed this look!

MOTD: Yellow Cut-Crease

I used the Morphe 35b and 35o palettes to create this yellow cut-crease eye look! I’ve been really into doing some really fun makeup looks lately if you can’t tell lol. I love experimenting with makeup and jumping outside my comfort zone!

Hot Product of the Week: tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hr Blush (Exposed)

This is going to be a new series on my blog where every Friday, I will post about a product that I have been loving each week (drugstore or high end)!

This week, I have been loving the tarte Amazonian Clay blush in the shade Exposed. It is the perfect neutral toned blush that will go with ANY makeup look!

It has a stiff texture and is not the most pigmented blush, but I actually really like the formula because it is nearly impossible to apply too much. It is very buildable and never looks patchy on me.

This has been the only blush I’ve been using all week and I definitely need to pick up some more shades!

Colorful MOTD feat. the Morphe 35b Palette

The Morphe 35b palette is the perfect palette for anyone who loves creating bright, fun eye looks and experimenting with color!

This palette is not a new product or anything, but I was so excited to add this to my makeup collection and create so many fun looks out of it, starting with today’s.

Today’s makeup look was also inspired by makeup artist, Linda Hallberg. She is by far the person I go to when I need some makeup inspiration. Her work is absolutely amazing and so different from any other makeup artist that I follow.

For my recreation of this look, I used a more toned down glitter in the inner corner and added a little bit on the outer corner of the eye as well. Linda used a deep plum lip color and I decided to use a brighter shade to add another pop of color.

Products used:

Face

  • Primed using the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
  • For foundation I used the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer
  • To conceal/brighten the under eyes and t-zone, I used the Maybelline Fit Me concealer
  • I set the concealer with the NYC loose translucent powder
  • I contoured my face using the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer.
  • For blush, I used the tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Blush in shade Exposed. I wanted to keep the blush very neutral and toned down to keep the focus on the eyes and lips.
  • Highlighted using the Makeup Revolution baked highlighter in Golden Lights.

Eyes

  • Primed my eyes using the Wet N Wild PhotoFocus eye primer.
  • I set the lid and brow bone area with the white eyeshadow from the palette.
  • I used the lighter red shade in the crease as the tradition shade, then went in with the true red shade and packed this all over my lid and blended it into the crease, winging it out as well. I kept packing on this shade to intensify the color.
  • For the bottom lashline, I smoked out the hot pink shade, then smudged the medium purple shade closer to my bottom lashline.
  • I created a winged liner using the Wet N Wild liquid eyeliner in Voltage Blue.
  • I added some gold pressed glitter from Wet N Wild to the inner and outer corners of my eyes.
  • I applied a good coat of the L’Orea Vuminous Carbon Black mascara to my top and bottom lashes, then applied some falsies (Andrea lashes).

Brows & Lips

  • I filled in my brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown.
  • I only used one product for the lips, Maybelline lipstick in Violet Vixen from their Bolds collection.

MOTD: Winged Liner + Red/Orange Lippie

Definitely stepped out of my makeup comfort zone with this lip color! I don’t know how I feel about it still (on me), but it was something different that I have never worn before and since makeup is not permanent, I thought “why not?!”. I was inspired by Beauty YouTuber Desi Perkins to try this shade because to me, it seems like she rocks simple eye makeup and a bright orange-y lip color a lot.

The lipstick is from the Maybelline Bolds collection in the shade Orange Danger. It is a very bright red with major orange undertones. It is almost a more neon version of the Kylie Lip Kit shade in 22.

I also kept with the theme and popped an orange eyeshadow in my crease. I used the shade Realgar from the ABH Modern Renaissance palette (my latest obsession).

I love experimenting with makeup, so even though I am not completely head over heels in love with this shade on me, I am glad I tried something new and will probably experiment more with bolder, bright lip colors in the future!
