Neutral Smokey Eye + Deep Berry Lips

I decided to whip out my Tarte Tarteist Pro eyeshadow palette once again and create this dramatic smokey eye, focusing on the neutral brown shades in the palette.

FACE

  • primed using the Hey Honey Good Morning serum and Becca Evermatte Poreless Perfecting primer
  • Mixed the EX1 Invisiwear foundation in shade F200 with my Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless foundation in shade 128 warm nude
  • Applied Smashbox Studio Skin concealer in shade light/warm under my eyes and on other high points of my face.
  • Set my face with the Essence All About Matt powder and my undereyes with the RCMA no color powder
  • Contoured using the Wet N Wild contour palette in Dulce De Leche and bronzes using Benefit Hoola bronzer
  • For blush, I used Coralista from benefit
  • Highlighted using Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop

EYES

  • I used some tape to create a winged effect with my eyeshadow since I didn’t feel like applying eyeliner today.
  • I used the shades (from the Tarteist palette) bold, innocent as transition colors and deepened the crease/ outer-v using the shades edgy, smoked, and punk (I have a picture of the palette with shade names on my previous post). I applied the shade Glam all over the lid.
  • Applied one coat of Lash Princess false Lash mascara to my top and bottom lashes then applied a pair of Kiss falsies in the style Shy

BROWS & LIPS

  • filled in my brows using the Skone Cosmetics Brow Wand in chocolate
  • My lip color is the Palladio Velvet Matte lip cream in the shade Boucle

MOTD: Green & Purple Fall Smokey Eye

I love recreating different makeup looks and this one created by Melissa Alatorre really stood out to me! I think that using the deep plum and green shades make this a gorgeous fall look while also incorporating color.

FACE

  • Becca Ever Matte Poreless Perfecting Primer
  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation in warm nude
  • Maybelline Better Skin concealer in light/medium
  • Set my concealer with the NYX HD pressed powder in banana
  • Benefit Hoola bronzer
  • Benefit Rockateur blush
  • Makeup Revolution baked highlighter in Radiant Lights

EYES

  • Morphe 35b palette (I cannot put this thing down- OBSESSED!)
  • Applied one coat of Essence Lash Princess false lashes mascara to my top and bottom lashes
  • Applied a pair of Kiss false lashes in the style Shy- my absolute faves

BROWS & LIPS

  • For my brows I fluffed them up using the “soap brow” trend (if you don’t know what this is, I posted a quick tutorial of it on my Instagram @marinaleebeauty). Basically you run soap through your brows and it makes them stay in place in any style ALL DAY.
  • I filled them in softly using the ABH Dipbrow pomade in medium brown
  • For lips, I applied the Milani lipstick in Bahama Beige and used NYX Butter Gloss in fortune cookie overtop.

Hope y’all enjoyed this look!

Colorful MOTD feat. the Morphe 35b Palette

The Morphe 35b palette is the perfect palette for anyone who loves creating bright, fun eye looks and experimenting with color!

This palette is not a new product or anything, but I was so excited to add this to my makeup collection and create so many fun looks out of it, starting with today’s.

Today’s makeup look was also inspired by makeup artist, Linda Hallberg. She is by far the person I go to when I need some makeup inspiration. Her work is absolutely amazing and so different from any other makeup artist that I follow.

For my recreation of this look, I used a more toned down glitter in the inner corner and added a little bit on the outer corner of the eye as well. Linda used a deep plum lip color and I decided to use a brighter shade to add another pop of color.

Products used:

Face

  • Primed using the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
  • For foundation I used the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer
  • To conceal/brighten the under eyes and t-zone, I used the Maybelline Fit Me concealer
  • I set the concealer with the NYC loose translucent powder
  • I contoured my face using the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer.
  • For blush, I used the tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Blush in shade Exposed. I wanted to keep the blush very neutral and toned down to keep the focus on the eyes and lips.
  • Highlighted using the Makeup Revolution baked highlighter in Golden Lights.

Eyes

  • Primed my eyes using the Wet N Wild PhotoFocus eye primer.
  • I set the lid and brow bone area with the white eyeshadow from the palette.
  • I used the lighter red shade in the crease as the tradition shade, then went in with the true red shade and packed this all over my lid and blended it into the crease, winging it out as well. I kept packing on this shade to intensify the color.
  • For the bottom lashline, I smoked out the hot pink shade, then smudged the medium purple shade closer to my bottom lashline.
  • I created a winged liner using the Wet N Wild liquid eyeliner in Voltage Blue.
  • I added some gold pressed glitter from Wet N Wild to the inner and outer corners of my eyes.
  • I applied a good coat of the L’Orea Vuminous Carbon Black mascara to my top and bottom lashes, then applied some falsies (Andrea lashes).

Brows & Lips

  • I filled in my brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown.
  • I only used one product for the lips, Maybelline lipstick in Violet Vixen from their Bolds collection.

MOTD: Winged Liner + Red/Orange Lippie

Definitely stepped out of my makeup comfort zone with this lip color! I don’t know how I feel about it still (on me), but it was something different that I have never worn before and since makeup is not permanent, I thought “why not?!”. I was inspired by Beauty YouTuber Desi Perkins to try this shade because to me, it seems like she rocks simple eye makeup and a bright orange-y lip color a lot.

The lipstick is from the Maybelline Bolds collection in the shade Orange Danger. It is a very bright red with major orange undertones. It is almost a more neon version of the Kylie Lip Kit shade in 22.

I also kept with the theme and popped an orange eyeshadow in my crease. I used the shade Realgar from the ABH Modern Renaissance palette (my latest obsession).

I love experimenting with makeup, so even though I am not completely head over heels in love with this shade on me, I am glad I tried something new and will probably experiment more with bolder, bright lip colors in the future!

MOTD feat. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette + Brief Review

I waited for MONTHS for this palette to come back in stock and when I got the e-mail notification from Sephora last week that it was back I dropped everything and ordered it!

There isn’t anything new going on with my face makeup today, so I won’t go into detail about that, but these eyeshadow are AMAZING!!

This was my first time trying out ABH eyeshadow and if the singles are anything like the shadows in this palette then I seriously need all of them!

I decided to do something really dramatic and smokey for this eye look because I wanted to use as many of the shades as I could.

I have only used this palette one one and I am already obsessed. They are so increasingly pigmented, but blend effortlessly. They do have a good amount of kick-off, but that is something that kind of goes hand in hand with intensely pigmented eyeshadows (especially red shades).

After just one time using this palette, it has already become a favorite and probably something that I will dip into every time I do my makeup. If I could choose individual shades and put them together in a palette myself, it would look pretty much like this Modern Renaissance one. Now I understand why this thing is always out of stock, but if you are contemplating purchasing it DO IT!!

MOTD: Reverse Winged Liner

This reversed winged liner look is an effortless way to add something different to your makeup looks and step outside your makeup comfort zone without going over the top.

For this look, I used a neutral on the lid and added a pop of blue to the lower lashline, but this technique would look gorgeous with a dark brown, black, or more subtle color on the lower lashline as well.

As always follow me on the gram @marinaleebeauty and keep scrolling to see a list of products used to achieve this eye look!!

Products used:

  • Wet N Wild eyeshadow primer
  • Benefit Hoola bronzer and Dallas blush in the crease (I was already using these on my face and they look gorgeous as eyeshadows), but any soft brown shade will work.
  • Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in LaLa all over the lid. These metallic shadows from Colourpop work best when applied with your finger.
  • NYX single eyeshadow in the shade Electroshock on the bottom lashline. I smoked this out slightly and winged it upward with an angled brush.
  • I curled my lashes with my Tarte eyelash curler and applied one coat of the Lights Camera Lashes mascara from Tarte as well.
  • I applied my FAVORITE pair of lashes- Kiss lashes in Shy and covered the lash band with a black eyeliner.

Quick DIY: Spice up an old t-shirt!

I saw this distressed t-shirt look on Kendall Jenner and figured it would be so easy to recreate! In this DIY, I did not make the “V” of my shirt as deep as Kendall’s, but you can make it however you would like!

The only materials you will need are:

  • A pen or fine point sharpie (I used a brow pencil lol) to mark how deep you are going to make the “V”.
  • Sharp pair of scissors
  • A t-shirt

The steps are really easy, this took me less than 5 minutes! You just want to be sure to cut around the neckline because that is going to act as our “built in choker” and is essential to the look we are going for.

This is probably one of the easiest (and trendiest) ways to spice up an old or cheap t-shirt and give it some sass and style. I’m definitely going to be doing this to some of my other band tees!

I hope y’all enjoyed this quick DIY and are inspired to try it out as well!

MOTD: Simple Glam feat. UD Naked 2 palette

There’s nothing special really about today’s makeup, but I just love how fresh and simply pretty the makeup turned out. I dipped into my UD Naked 2 palette for my eyes because I haven’t used it in a while.

I used the shade Half Baked from the palette all over the lid and blended some bronzer into my crease. I also applied a natural pair of false lashes and finished the look with the long lasting lipstick from Essence in the shade Cool Nude. I also applied the Essence XXL Shine gloss overtop. And of course for foundation I am wearing my Too Faced Born This Way in Nude.

Any makeup look wouldn’t be complete without a good highlight, so I used Champagne Pop from Becca & Jaclyn Hill’s collab.

Cranberry & Gold Halo Eyes

Check out my Instagram @marinaleebeauty to see a quick tutorial on how I created this gorgeous fall eye look!

For my eyes, I used the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows in Central Perk (crease), Drift (inner and outer corners), and KathleenLights (center). For my lips, I lined them using the Rimmel lip liner in Natural then filled them in using the Colourpop Satin Matte lipstick in Too Lips. Lastly, I just dabbed a little bit of the Wet N Wild ColorIcon lipgloss in the shade Ring My Bellbottoms (this is from their new limited edition fall collection).

Cobalt Blue Smokey Eye + Deep Red Lip: Makeup Inspired by Kim Kardashian

I am so obsessed with this makeup that Mario Dedivanovic did on Kim Kardashian about a year ago (yes I know I’m a little late, but I saw a picture of it again recently and was feeling inspired!). I was inspired to recreate this look since it is very bold and perfect for fall if you want to step outside the box of typical warm toned shades.

Products Used

Eyes

  • Primed my eyes using the Wet N Wild eyeshadow primer
  • The main shadow that I used is Luckfully from Colourpop all over the lid. I used a little bit of NYX’s single shadow in Electroshock and Soft Brown from MAC to blend it out slightly. I used the same technique on my lower lashline.
  • I applied a thin line of eyeliner on my top lashline using the Essence waterproof eyeliner pen.
  • I applied one coat of L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara to my top and bottom lashline and used a black waterproof eyeliner on my waterline.
  • I applied a pair of the Kiss lashes in the style Pretty.
  • Lastly, I highlighted the inner corner using MAC Nylon. Kim did not have an inner corner highlight, but I think it just added something extra to the look.

Face

  • Primed my face using the NYX Angle Veil primer
  • For foundation I used the Milani Conceal + Perfect foundation
  • I used the NYX HD concealer in Medium and the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer in neutralizer under my eyes and to highlight other parts of my face. I set these areas with the NYX HD pressed powder in Banana.
  • I bronzed/contoured using the Benefit Hoola matte bronzer and for blush I used Coralista and Dallas from Benefit as well. These are all from the Cheekathon blush palette.
  • I highlighted using Gilded Honey from Laura Geller.

Brows & Lips

  • I filled in my brows softly using the ABH Brow Wiz in dark brown.
  • For lips, I just used the Wet N Wild matte lipstick in Cinnamon Spice.
