Glam Sugar Skull Halloween Makeup

Hi everyone!! I am back with another glam Halloween look and I am so so excited about this one! The image below was my inspiration for this Sugar Skull makeup look. This makeup was done by @christianthemua on Instagram and when I came across this picture I knew I wanted to recreate it! I love the color scheme and how the warm tones give this a fall vibe as well. I kept my look pretty similar for the most part, while also simplifying the look slightly.

As always, keep scrolling to see my recreation of this look as well as a full list of products that I used to create it. Also, be sure to follow me on Instagram @marinaleebeauty!

FACE:

  • L.A. Girl Pro Coverage HD Foundation in fair (this is really a light medium shade, it matched my skin perfectly).
  • I skipped concealer and contour today since it would have been covered up by the eyeshadows anyway.
  • I used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in black bean to sketch out the cheekbones and blended out the harsh lines with a matte black shadow to create a gradient effect.
  • I used a terracotta blush shade from the BH Cosmetics nude blush palette to bronze my skin and under the cheekbone shading.
  • I used the same NYX eye pencil to sketch the cross on my forehead, nose, and to sketch outlines petals on my chin. I used a black felt tip liner to help with line precision.
  • I applied a gold metallic shadow overtop of the black jumbo pencil on my nose for more dimension.

EYES:

  • I used the same NYX jumbo pencil in black bean as a base for the navy eyeshadow in order to make the color pop more.
  • I used a matte navy blue shadow from my Morphe 35B palette and patted this overtop of the black base. I also blended this slightly into the crease.
  • I used a mixture of MUG “Bitten” eyeshadow (burgundy) and a bright red shade from the same Morphe palette to shade all around my eyes in a circular area. I also used this to blend out the blue shadow.
  • I applied a thin winged bright yellow liner for a pop of color. The liner I used was the NYX Vivid Brights liquid liner in Vivid Escape.
  • I applied a pair of Ardell Demi Whispies
  • I used the same yellow liner to apply dots under my eyes as well as a bright cobalt blue liner from Wet N Wild.
  • I used a black felt tip liner to sketch the “sockets” around the red eyeshadow and the teeth (apply lipstick first).

BROWS & LIPS

  • Filled in my brows using the ABH Dipbrow pomade in medium brown
  • lined my lips with the Elf Matte Lip Color in Riach Red.
  • I applied the NYX Butter Lipstick in Lifeguard overtop.

MOTD: Metallic Cobalt Blue Halo Eyes

I used the Juvia’s Place Masquerade palette and the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette to create this bold eye look today! This is by far one of my favorite looks that I have created so I hope y’all like it just as much as I do!

Keep scrolling to see more pics of this look and a full list of products that I used!

EYES:

  • For primer, I used the Smashbox Studio Skin concealer
  • In the crease, I layered shades Sauced and Cayenne from the UD Naked Heat palette. I used these same shades to smoke out my bottom lash line as well.
  • I applied the shade Chi (metallic cobalt blue) from the Juvia’s Place Masquerade palette all over my lid. I used my finger to apply the shade Giza from the same palette in the center of my lid to create a halo eye effect. I used the same technique on my bottom lash line, but did not smoke these shades out too much.
  • Sephora crayon eyeliner in “My boyfriend’s jeans” (metallic cobalt blue shade) in the water line.
  • Curled my lashes and applied a coat of Essence I Love Volume mascara to my top and bottom lashes.
  • Applied a pair of Ardell Demi Whispies

FACE:

  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade 128)
  • Smashbox Studio Skin (light/warm) and Tarte Shape Tape concealer (light sand)
  • Set my face with Essence matte setting powder
  • Bronzed my skin with the Covergirl True Blend bronzer in 200 bronze
  • BH Cosmetics Nude Blush palette (neutral shades)
  • BH Cosmetics Spotlight Highlighting palette (shades Dream and Glow)

BROWS & LIPS:

  • ABH Dipbrow Pomade in medium brown
  • NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi
  • Wet N Wild lip gloss in “Ring My Bellbottoms” (sheer gloss with gold reflects)

Mermaid Glam (feat. new products!)

This look was inspired by the NYX Prismatic Eyeshadow in the shade “Mermaid”. It is a gorgeous metallic seafoam green color and the star of this bold makeup look!

Keep reading to see pics and a full list of products that I used!

EYES

  • I mixed together all of the green shades from my Morphe 35b palette for the transition shade.
  • I used a dark green eyeshadow from the same palette on the inner and outer corners of my eyes to create a halo effect. I deepened up the inner and outer corners with the navy blue from the palette.
  • In the center of my lid, I applied the NYX shadow “Mermaid” with my finger and blended out the edges slightly:
  • I replicated the same technique to the bottom lashline. I brought the Mermaid shadow pretty far down for a more dramatic halo effect.
  • I applied a coat of Maybelline Big Shot mascara to my top and bottom lashes, then applied a pair of Ardell 120 Demi Wispies.

FACE

  • I tried out a new foundation for this look- the Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir foundation in shade 725 buff beige (detailed review coming soon)
  • I applied Tarte Shape Tape concealer under my eyes, bridge if my nose, and chin.
  • I set my concealer with the translucent Coty Airspun powder and the rest of my face with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder
  • I bronzed my face with the bronzer shade from the Colourpop x Alexis Ren palette in “Golden Moment”
  • For contouring I used the Fiona Stiles Bronzing Sun Veil powder in Ahiko
  • For blush I used the LA Girl blushes in Just Natural (matte) and Just Glowing (shimmery)
  • I highlighted above my brows, brow bone, nose, cheekbones, and Cupid’s bow with the same NYX Mermaid eyeshadow. I love how using this shade all over the face tied the look together.

BROWS

  • I filled in my brows using a mix of the dark green and navy blue shades from the Morphe 35b palette. This step is not necessary, but it went along with the Mermaid theme.

LIPS

  • First I applied the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Aquarius.
  • I dabbed the Essence lipstick in Porcelain Doll in the center of my lips to make them even more nude.
  • I used the NYX Mermaid shadow once again in the center of my lips to tie the look together.

🌅 Sunset Makeup 🌅

I wanted this look to be very bright and bronzy, but also wearable. I love pairing orange and red together, especially for a Spring/Summer makeup look.

Hot Product of the Week: NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette

I have heard so many great things about this highlighting palette and couldn’t wait to add it to my makeup collection!

Keep reading for my review!

This palette consists of 7 beautiful highlighting shades and retails for $19 at Ulta. This might seem like a steep price for NYX, which is a drugstore brand, but in my opinion it is well worth it!

The top row consists of 4 highlighting shades that have a slight iridescence to them. Iridescent shades have been quite popular lately with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit and the more recent Kat Von D Alchemist palette. If you are looking for a more inexpensive way to achieve these kinds of looks, this palette is definitely a great option!

In addition to the iridescent shades, the bottom row consists of three more wearable shades. The Lee is a shade for medium skin, deeper skin, and pale skin. Basically, every highlight you could ever need is in this palette!

Aside from the colors, the formula of the highlights is incredible! They are extremely buttery and pigmented and don’t have too much powder kick-back. These aren’t the most intense highlight shades at first, but you can definitely build up the intensity. This makes it perfect for everyone, no matter what kind of look you are going for.

Hot Product of the Week: NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick (Cashmere Silk)

I know I haven’t posted in a while, but I’m back with my latest hot product of the week!

I have heard nothing but great things about the NYX Lip Lingerie liquid lipstick line and I decided to try out a shade for myself!

I have been wearing the shade Cashmere Silk non-stop since I bought it at Ulta. It is the perfect pinky Nude shade for my skin tone and goes with every makeup look!

The formula is very thin, yet opaque and is not too drying on the lips. I do like to apply a lip balm before using this liquid lipstick, but I think it is pretty comfortable without one as well. This product lasts ALL DAY and is almost completely transfer proof.

The Lip Lingerie line consists of all neutral shades, but those are the shades I am drawn to most of the time anyway. I am so in love with the shade I own and am definitely going to pick up some more!

MOTD: Copper Smokey Eye + Nude Lippie

This makeup look was inspired by YouTube Beauty Guru Jaclyn Hill and her old school favorite eyeshadow- MAC’s Coppering.

I have had this eyeshadow in my collection for quite a while, but I never got around to creating an eye look with it-so here it is!

Keep reading for a full list of products that I used AND to see more pics of this look, follow my Instagram @marinaleebeauty! ❤️

EYES

  • I used the Wet N Wild PhotoFocus eyeshadow primer
  • I used scotch tape to create a sharp winged effect with the eyeshadows.
  • I used the Tarte Tarteist Pro palette for the transition shades and to deepen up the crease, but any medium brown, dark brown, and black eyeshadows will do.
  • I packed the MAC eyeshadow in Coppering all over my lid using a flat concealer brush. I also sprayed my brush with a little bit of setting spray after picking up the shadow to intensify the color.
  • I removed the tape and applied a pair of the Kiss Shy lashes.
  • I blended the same brown shades I used in the crease on my bottom lashline.

FACE

  • Primed my skin using my Murad Oil Control Mattifier
  • For foundation, I used the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation in creamwhip
  • For concealer I used the Tarte Shape Tape in light/medium
  • I set my concealer and face makeup with the RCMA No Color powder
  • For bronzer, I used the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte bronzer
  • Contoured with the sculpt shade from the Tarteist Pro Glow palette
  • The highlighter I used is Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop

BROWS & LIPS

  • Lightly filled in my brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in dark brown
  • For lips, I lined them using the Essence lip liner in Natural. Then, I dabbed on a little bit of the Maybelline lipstick in Blushing Beige and applied the NYX Buter Gloss in Fortune Cookie overtop.

Red & Green Christmas Glam

I’m back with another Christmas makeup look, except this time I stuck with the traditional red and green color scheme. I used a few new products in creating this look so keep scrolling to see what’s new!

EYES

  • I applied the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk all over my eyelids to act as a base for the green shadow. Doing this will help intensify the pigment of any eyeshadow.
  • I only really used one eyeshadow for this entire look- the darkest green shade from my Morphe 35B palette (but any deep green shade will work). I packed it onto my eyelid and blended it upward into the crease.
  • The glitter liner is from NYX in the shade Glam Lagoon. I bought this eyeliner specifically with this makeup look in mind and I am in love with it! It is really pigmented and easy to apply.
  • Lastly, I just applied a pair of the Kiss lashes in the style Shy (what’s new lol) and then blended that same green eyeshadow on my bottom lashline.

FACE

  • I mixed some of my Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation with a little bit of the EX1 Invisiwear foundation and applied this with a damp beauty blender sponge.
  • For concealer I used a new favorite, the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. This product has been raved about since it first launched and it really is amazing!
  • I set my face makeup and concealer with the RCMA No Color powder.
  • I contoured using the Sculpt shade from the Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow palette and bronzed using Benefit Hoola bronzer.
  • For blush, I went with a neutral shade since the eyes and lips are so bold. I used Tarte’s Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed.
  • I highlighted using the PUR cosmetics Elevation Mini Highlighter Palette (this little palette is inexpensive but absolutely amazing + comes with a little fan brush!).

BROWS & LIPS

  • For brows, I filled them in using the ABH Brow Wiz in dark brown.
  • The lipstick I am wearing is from Wet N Wild and it is in the shade Cinnamon Spice.

Holiday Glam feat. the Tarte Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette

I feel like almost everybody has been raving about the latest product launches from Tarte cosmetics, especially the Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay eyeshadow palette. This palette consists of 16 creamy, pigmented matte shades (square pans) and 4 duo-chrome/ metallic shades (circular pans).

tarteist-pro

I am so in love with this palette and really enjoy the colors and formula of the matte and shimmer shades. I have never tried out any eyeshadow palettes from Tarte before, but after trying this palette I am a big fan!

The Holiday Glam look that I created today is meant to be very simple and not too over the top. I used the shades “Innocent” and “Bold” as my transition shades and then deepened up the crease using the shades “Smoked”, “Mod”, and “Drama”. Then, for the star of this look, I applied the shade “Trendy” all over the lid using my finger. This shade is that famous Mac Blue Brown pigment kind of shade and it looks absolutely gorgeous. I used a little bit of the black shade “Punk” on the outter corner. For the bottom lashline, I smoked it out using the shades “Mod” and “Drama”.
